Bangalore, Apr 17: NBCLC, popular for conducting various courses had an interesting seminar on 'Threats and Challenges to Asian Family' recently, organized by ‘Respect for Life.’
The talk was delivered by the executive director for Human Life International Asia Dr Ligaya A Acosta which attracted priests, brothers, sisters and lay people, families in particular.
Human Life International, founded by Fr Paul Marx, is headed by Fr Tom Enteneur as its president.
The programme began with a welcome address by Angela.
Dr Ligaya in her talk expressed her satisfaction over the fact that she has been able to reach out to people and her cup of joy overflows with happiness.
The entire programme was with power point presentation and detailed explanation with enthusaistic participation from the audience. She boldly shared her life experience saying that contraceptive is the gateway to abortion. She quoted Mother Theresa’s words – ‘The womb which is supposed to be the safest place for the child is becoming the tomb in some cases’. She concluded saying, ‘Abstain from sex before marriage and be faithful to your spouse after marriage as true love waits for marriage. Teach your child the values of chastity and morality. Silence is not an option’.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Vincent Roop Singh, president of ‘Respect for Life.’ This was followed by a cultural programme by Nrityavani group of NBCLC.
Archbishop Susapakyam, Fr Cleofus Fernandez, Fr Jacob and Fr Paul Puthanangady graced the occasion with their presence. Fr Thomas D’Sa in his concluding note thanked all the participants and made a special note of thanks to Dr Ligaya for sharing her life experiences and vast knowledge in the field. The programme ended with refreshments.

Dr Ligaya A Acosta is Human Life International representative and the Pacific based in the Philippines. Dr Acosta had an amazing conversion in 2004 from being a firm believer in population control and an avid promoter of sterilization and contraceptives for 28 years to a staunch pro-life advocate and activist in her country.
