Kasargod: City Limps Back to Normalcy after Spate of Murders

Kasargod, Apr 19: After incidents of sporadic violence that rocked the entire district resulting in the murder of 4 persons in five days, the district is gradually limping back to normalcy.  No incidents of violence have been reported in the last 20 hours.  Police have still cordoned off the city and section 144 is clamped in Kasargod police station limits, which was worst-hit owing to violence in the last 5 days.











Meanwhile home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan visited the houses of the deceased along with MP P Karunakaran and DIG Raman Srivastav.  Even a few of the MLAs and local political leaders were present on the occasion.

Haji C M Mohammad Kunhi, president of Bilal Mosque at Adkatabail near here who was stabbed to death on Friday was laid to rest in his hometown.

Daijiworld sources said that a peace meeting which was convened by home minister is underway in the city. The home minister is expected to address the reporters once the meeting is over.
