Gujarat CM Narendra Modi to Campaign in Puttur

Puttur: Gujarat CM Narendra Modi to Campaign in Puttur

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (KM)

Puttur, Apr 20: In a bit to bolster its prospects at the hustings, Narendra Modi, the chief minister of Gujarat will be visiting Puttur constituency on Sunday April 27 to take part in BJP's election campaign. Once there, he will be addressing a gathering on behalf of possible party candidate Mallika Prasad, BJP candidate for the Puttur constituency, sources here informed.

It is believed that the forthcoming campaign by the Gujarat CM may to some extent pacify a section of party workers and loyalists. Many of them have expressed their unhappiness privately over denial of ticket to their candidate Shakuntala Shetty in the impending assembly polls. This tactic by the party high command seems to be an attempt to avert their party's image from being tarnished in the constituency.

Meanwhile, even giving a B-form to Shakuntala Shetty seems now to be a remote possibility. In fact developments within the constituency clearly indicate that the party's favorite more or less, seems to be Mallika Prasad.

The scenario now in opposite camp is such that on one side Mallika Prasad has intensified his campaigning, while on the other side Shakuntala Shetty too on her part stepped up her campaigning with some initiatives.
