Belagavi: Fulfilled all promises, ready for debate with BJP - Siddaramaiah

Belagavi, Jul 1 (DHNS): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday challenged BJP leaders to a debate on what the Union government had achieved in three years in office and he was ready for a similar debate on the four-year Congress rule in Karnataka.

Addressing a convention of Congress party workers at Athani town in Belagavi district, Siddaramaiah insisted that he had fulfilled all the promises he had made to people and that he worked for their welfare. Social justice has been ensured for farmers, labourers, youth and the poor, he said.

Siddaramaiah wondered what happened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pre-poll promises — creation of two crore jobs per year, bringing back black money stashed in foreign banks and depositing Rs 15 lakh in every citizen’s bank account. “All these promises have remained on paper. Modi has been involved in theatrics, while we believe in fulfilling the promises,” he affirmed.

He accused the BJP of indulging in “divisive politics” and said Modi’s motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ excluded Muslims. BJP parliamentarian from Uttara Kannada, Anant Kumar Hegde, may say that the party does not require Muslim votes but how can they be kept out of the development pie, he asked.

Taking on BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa, Siddaramaiah said the former’s recent visits to Dalit homes were aimed at the upcoming Assembly elections. When (Yeddyurappa) was the chief minister, he didn’t formulate any programmes for the welfare of Dalits, he said.

The chief minister said the state government had waived Rs 8,765 crore worth of farm loans — the highest ever — and dared BJP leaders to get agricultural loans waived by nationalised banks which come under the union government.

Siddaramaiah expressed confidence that the people of Karnataka would re-elect a Congress government in 2019 as the party had fulfilled all the promises it had made in the manifesto. At the Centre, too, the Congress will come back to power in 2019 and Rahul Gandhi will become the prime minister, he said.

With costly laced shawl and publicity oriented face, he is not as simple and straight as claimed to be. The Hubolt watch controversy, which will not fade so easily from memory, alone speaks volumes. Caesar's wife must be above suspicion. Welfare of people and funds claimed to have been spent remain only on paper and delivered as promised in full page newspaper advertisements. Government welfare schemes reaching people through newspaper is a novel delivery mode unheard hitherto. Crave for publicity with photo everywhere without etiquette. Even 108 ambulances where the accident victim is in a struggle to save life is not spared. You take the health care delivery sector alone as an example with deterioration visible everywhere. Let there be a debate first on credentials to get re-elected to the same post. Debate on development schemes can follow later, if felt need be.....!

Being a neutral citizen and without supporting any party, I can raise some issues from a personal note as what I have seen.
Citizen of b'lore and supporters of siddu are themself complaining about him and would never want to vote and elect him again. They feel central rule is much better, as they claim modi has acted and benefitted people with his work.
Yes, nothing can be easy, like modi promised of "acche din". But try being neutral and experience your daily life and I am surely one can feel that today is surely a "acche din", unlike it was few years back.
There are ups & downs in every govt, but I must say modi is doing all he can to benefit each citizen of the country. We must have the ability to accept few and adjust from the rest, rather keep complaining about "acche din" and supporting the non-performer. Jai Hind !

Even poorest of the poor got bank accounts
affordable Pension and Insurance scheme for all
    WIFI in railway station
Highways and railways to northeast which was never done before

The first 2 points which I mentioned are the reason for BJP victory in UP as per the India Today/Aaj Tak survey

MMS is an Economist and played a very vital role in Indian Economy especially in globalisation . Still people started making jokes about him. Now you think Modi is working for every citizen of this country... He only speaks.. very less action.. he cannot even control gau rakshak.. beef is the only acche din. From my perspective We are absolutely are not progressing like how we were under Manmohan Singh govt.
