Passenger on Bengaluru-Mumbai flight arrested for sexual misconduct

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jul 1: A passenger headed to Mumbai from Bengaluru by an early morning flight was arrested and remanded to judicial custody after he allegedly harassed a co-passenger and behaved in an obscene way during the flight.

The harassed female passenger shouted for help, unable to bear with the behaviour of the passenger, at which he was whisked away by personnel. On the arrival of the flight at Mumbai, he was taken over by security staff, who later lodged a complaint in the airport police station. The police arrested him and produced him in the court whereupon he was remanded to judicial custody.

The 31-year-old passenger identified as Sabeen Hamza, was touching the woman passenger who was asleep. Because of his inappropriate behaviour and touches, the woman suddenly woke up and saw that her co-passenger was touching her and indulging in sexual gratification. The horrified passenger then cried for help. The airline staff who rushed to help saw that Hamza was hurriedly closing the zip of his trousers.

He was booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code pertaining to outraging modesty of women.

Very shameful act.OH weh, when he is a married person and his wife comes to know this !or his parents.I think in future airlines should take this opportunity /this incident and provide alone travelling woman to provide a seat if possible with same gender.Males to males .Never mind if sea t was already given could be later changed.Or woman can ask a seat for a change when she finds to be in a uncomfortable situation.Good she had to travel only a short time. What if she had to travel a long journey?I am sure many other women too experienced such siutation, but out of shame didnt report it.He should be punished as per airlines rules. No mercy.

Appreciate the law and the quick action. Such passengers should be on the "No Fly List" by entering all their details like PP, Aadhar, Pan etc.
Same swift action should also be applied to the Political Class. Gaikwad got away smiling...........

There must be a compartment for straight ladies, a compartment for straight men, a compartment for lesbians, a compartment for gays and a compartment for bi-sexuals.

    are you happy now???

Lol @Beowulf.. Funny :D.. But why just stop there, make separate compartments based on religion and geographic location and further subdivide it the affiliation to a political party and then give them reserved seats based on their caste, after putting a 28% GST on the rich and the products that they use :) Divide and rule I say :P

Seems this man doesn't have mother or sisters. Pathetic. This guy should be punished in such a way that no one would dare to do such act. But our legal system is so pathetic and hence crimes are increasing. Day is not far when girls carry knifes and if they come across sexual harassment they might cut that body part which leads to this sexual behavior.

While condemning his shameful act, this guy might have got enamoured towards the lady n the sudden rush of testosterone made him lose his sanity for a moment n he did this shameful act for which he might be repenting heavily now!!

BTW, if he was drunk many would have said it was coz of alcohol! Moreover Illiteracy n poverty have absolutely no connection with such filthy behavior, whoever says that!!

This testosterone release thing is a biological phenomenon common to all, but homosapiens are expected to exercise certain restraint over such urge failing to which is inviting troubles and our legal system has provisions to reward such misadventures appropriately.

    Dear bro,
I outright condemn his dastardly actions as stated earlier, but there r many people with various psychosexual issues, which makes them do such perverse acts; now he will pay a heavy price for his misdemeanor!

U might be very well remembering the infamous case of the President of the most powerful country n now yesterday the shocker of a news of a Cardinal from Australia?? These r but a few examples bro!!

I would urge u to read a daily Q/A session published in a daily paper answered by one of the oldest sexologist in India n u will get a very good idea about human sexuality, what all goes on in the same society in which u n I r living but unaware off or pretend to not know!!!

Shocking. We send female members alone by flight thinking it is safest and only decent people travel in it. This animal has proved the opposite. His photograph should be published and he should be socially shamed.

Taking air travel in the early days, in 50s and 60s, was of rich, affluent and educated people and incidents like above could be minimum.

Today an illiterate or a hard labor or a filthy minded person like Sabeen Hamza could avail flight journey. And the person having uncivilized mentality and little thought about the consequences tends to indulge in a shameful and indecent act with fellow passenger similar to the above.

Publish is his photograph and let his close family and friends see him.

    Punish him as per law.

Law should be same for all. Law should not be based on his last name . Usually what happens if the police is part of any outfit then they will tag him as mentally sick man and leave him after few days.

There was lots of protest about missing women in DK few years back .,.. When police catch Cyanide Mohan no one is bothered about those missing girls...
One law should be there for all irrespective of color, caste or religion.
