Bengaluru, Jul 2: A popular restaurant here used the water from the sump where its waiter lay dead for three days.

The name of restaurant is ‘Shanthi Sagar Hotel’ located close to Devanahalli bus stand north Bengaluru. The deceased Krishna (30) worked there as waiter.

Angry customers and local residents protested in front of the restaurant after they found out that the water used for cooking food was sourced from a same sump where the body of Krishna was rotting for three days.

Krishna went missing on Tuesday night. His body was found floating in the restaurant sump on Thursday evening when one worker went to check the water level. The restaurant unknowingly was drawing the water from the same sump for cooking purposes till then.

When the news reached the locals and some customers of the restaurant, they crowded the hotel. Then they protested against the hotel staff and ownership for the negligence. Some of the protestors tried to vandalise the hotel property. But police reached the place on time and dispersed the crowd.

Krishna’s body was taken to the hospital for post-mortem after that.

It is not yet known if Krishna accidentally fell into the sump at night or committed suicide.

Police said that they will ascertain the cause of the death first after seeing the report from doctors before taking any action against the hotel management.
