Udupi, Apr 22: A full fledged media centre will be made available for journalists within four months at all district information departments, informed State Information Department Commissioner K V R Tagore.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, he said that the centre will be equipped with latest information technologies like digital recording, presentations, downloading and so on and is aimed at providing paperless transmission of information.
A temporary media centre is coming up shortly in the district by the end of April to update media persons regarding the latest information on poll scenario, K V R Tagore added.
He informed that the financial assistance has been allotted for the purpose and briefed on the forthcoming project of the Department on community radio.
Mr Tagore said that the revalidation process of namma banuli is on the way and every village will be the venue for a community radio station and added that as many as 10.5 lakh has been sanctioned only for the infrastructure per division.
Financial assistance is provided for those who are not abided for UGC grants for the purpose of setting up of community radio station, Tagorevadded.
