Udupi: Karaval Milan to begin 2018 with grand Wilfy Nite on January 7

Udupi, Jul 4: Karaval Milan, the united cultural forum for the parishioners of Udupi district, will kick off the year 2018 with some pleasant memories of the legendary singer-composer the Wilfy Rebimbus, with a special 'Wilfy Nite' schedule to be held on January 7, Government Junior College grounds in Kundapur, to support various projects of Udupi diocese.

The event has been conceptualized to be a grand, fun-filled, entertaining evening for the entire family with a selection of the immortal songs of the legend sung by his family along with their troupe of acclaimed singers with music. To complete the package, the singers and the musicians will also be accompanied by dancers and some of the most famous comedians of the Konkani speaking fraternity.

Attractive and generous prizes have been allotted making it an evening which cannot be missed. The date of the event is Sunday January 7, 2018. Mark your date and be there to be a part of history and above all, to have a good time with your family while celebrating and enjoying the music of the one and only Wilfy Rebimbus.

    This is a marvelous idea indeed. By encouraging many Parishes and Institutions coming up with periodic celebrations thru "Wilfy Nite" gagtherings, it enables the family to enliven the past and promotes the Konkany talents and brings back some of the favorite songs and lyricz back to life.

    We do listen from time to time Wilfy Rebimbos's famous songs and wonder within ourselves how did he manage to create such nice lyrics and also musical accompaniments thru his humble background of life. Unfortunately, his life ended much sooner than anticipated, and the Konkany Society was deprived of his Konkany contributions thru the music and lyrics. Wilfy Rebimbos music in Konkany is as valuable as Music and talents from Jim Reeves, Elvis Presley and even Michael Jackson. May they all rest in peace, because their early demise has created a great vacuum towards music and lyrics.
