RBI to print Rs 200 notes, to be in circulation by year end

Daijiworld Media Network

Mumbai, Jul 5: The Reserve Bank of India will soon print Rs 200 notes, which will significantly ease cash transactions.

The demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes in November 2016, wiped out over 85 percent of cash in circulation. Though new notes of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 were introduced, lack of lower denomination notes caused a cash crunch.

According to a top government official, the printing order has been given. The Rs 200 notes may be released before end of 2017 and will help narrow the supply gap in smaller-denomination currency notes. The decision to introduce Rs 200 notes was taken by the RBI with the consultation of Finance Ministry in March.

According to data by State Bank of India, there were roughly 1,650 crore pieces of Rs 500 notes in circulation prior November. The demonetisation move to curb counterfeiting and untaxed cash created a large gap in the value of notes in circulation.

As of June this year, the currency circulation with the public is at Rs 14.6 lac crore, still 18.4% lower than the pre-demonetisation level. The RBI has highlighted that there are no plans to print Rs 1000 notes.

First of all we should give big hats of to our RBI governor Mr. Urjit Patel.
He succeeded in having his signature in all the notes of ₹500/ ₹2000 and now ₹200.
So that other governors signatures notes are not in circulation.

One thing we common ppl are real fools, still ppl are opening their eyes by the way current govt.is taking the common ppl for granted.

    All the government are same.

Rs.200 notes are not necessary. Better RBI print Rs.1000 notes. Rs.200 notes are of no use.

Lots of Bhakths who were commenting in favour or supporting demonetization, have gone underground. Some were expecting to own a piece of land or 1 BHK flat at a reasonable affordable cost.

Why government is printing 200 note... If they are making digital India then no need of printing note.. .. everything you can do with ATM card.. banks also no need to stock currency .. .. .. ... government should ban all high denomination note,s 100 to 2000.. .. only 50 and less than 50 should be in cerrculation for pettty cash... .. by this there will not be any black money and less expenditure for printing currency.. ...

First print Re 1000 currency note then play with any denomination as you desire.
Don't play with people's patience for long, it would back fire very soon.
End multiple service charges when you deposit or withdraw to make good the losses suffered by NPAs

Keeping public in constant confusion is the best way to manage a country like ours. While people are busy in their confusion there are lots of other things being carried out silently behind the curtains as per plan...Looks like just when this country was waking up, this party with dual face is playing with citizens...

It’s because of Inflation, as prices rises, present note are insufficient to buy stuff, and govt produces new higher value notes as they are cheaper to produce than controlling the inflation.
