Mangaluru: 23-year-old student stabbed by group on pretext of wanting petrol

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jul 7: In yet another incident of violence in the district, a youth was allegedly stabbed by a group of miscreants at Adyar Padavu here on Friday July 7 evening.

Sajid (23), a native of Mallapuram in Kerala was allegedly attacked by the group. He has been admitted to a private hospital in the city.

Sajid is a third-year civil engineering student in a city-based private college.

It is learnt that Sajid and his friend Naufal were travelling from Adyar Padavu to Bittupade when a group of three stopped them and asked them for petrol, saying that the fuel in their bike had been exhausted. When Sajid and Naufal came forward to give them petrol, the group allegedly attacked them.

Sajid sustained injuries on his hand and stomach, sources said.

Sources also said that enmity over ganja peddling was the reason for the attack.

The police rushed to the spot. Hunt for the attackers is on.

    Competition is the culprit.
Not too far ago, Mangalore was heaven. There were particular 'goodangadi's in some particular places, where you could get ganja, no fights, no enmity.. only bliss. Bhang was available in some specific pan shops. There was no marketing at all, all was about word of mouth.

Now all those goodangadis have disappeared with advance in time, at the same time our crave for that particular bliss too has been suppressed by the divine liquid available in the wine shops!!!

Oh God! This young man in fact tried to help the attackers with petrol But he was stabbed! Are we becoming animals? We seems to be losing our moral values. I only pray that our area become peaceful. I am really upset about the whole episode thats happening in our area. Lest join together and pay for peace. No innocent person like this young boy must be punished just because he is from another community. This is inhumane and illogical incident.

yes, I agree...compared to small population and good education and income, crime should be less here. however, this region breeding underworld figures from a long time, plus in recent years, communal rabids ...no one bothers about crimes such as organised flesh trade (massage etc.), crimes by migrants, crimes from neighbouring state, drug peddlers etc.

...we are more interested in communal discord, blaming Karnataka Government for all our problems, blocking many development projects initiated by Government.
