Udupi: 'Alleging BJP support behind HC stay on NURM buses baseless'

Udupi, Jul 8: “Congress is making unfounded allegations and misleading people as elections draw nearer. Congress should clarify who they held the protest against yesterday,” urged City Yuva Morcha president Akshith Shetty Herga.

“Private bus operators are the ones who had gone to the court requesting for a stay on JNNURM buses in the district. Most of the owners of private buses are from Congress party. Some of the leaders in Congress district committee also are private bus owners. City Yuva Morcha only asks about the purpose of holding protests against BJP by district in-charge minister who is fond of publicity but failed to pacify private bus owners in his party,” he said.

“Dr V S Acharya was the one who materialised the dream of development in Udupi. Government air-conditioned buses plied in Udupi for the first time during his term and provided affordable service. Besides, the BJP is not in dire straits to learn lessons of development from Congress. BJP always is pro-development. Those who are close to the district in-charge minister went to court questioning the sand mining policy and caused a commotion. The minister has not been able to solve the problem yet. The supporters of the minister assaulted a citizen and another female member of the municipal council in the corporation, making citizens bow their head in shame. The minister was not able to take disciplinary action against the perpetrators. Yet the Congress protests against BJP, keeping forward those goons, a proof of moral infidelity by them. District Congress has come forward to blame BJP to gain sympathy from people and cover their failures as it is unable to face private lobby of some influential people,” he said.

“Why does the district in-charge minister not urge the transport authorities to set right the problems, if any, from private buses? Can he not cancel the permits of buses who do not follow discipline? What is the meaning of blaming BJP without doing those things?” asked the city Yuva Morcha.

“Let the district in-charge minister indulge in value based politics and work for the development of the district. If the party sends wrong message to the people with meaningless revengeful politics, the people will teach him a suitable lesson in the days to come,” said BJP City Yuva Morcha president Akshith Shetty Herga in the media addressal.

Roshan Shetty, Deepak Shet, Nithesh Shetty, Adarsh Nayak, Ovin D' Souza, Vignesh Shanbhog and Vijay Bhat were present on occassion.
