Udupi: Rashtriya Hindustan Sena to Contest 100 Seats - Mutalik

Udupi, Apr 25: Rashtriya Hindustan Sena will be contesting 100 seats in the assembly elections, said party president Pramod Mutalik here recently.

Speaking to the media persons he said that the party has already decided the list of 56 candidates and the final list will be released on Sunday April 27. It will also support an independent candidate Nagesh Rao in the Kaup assembly constituency.

The party is against the coal-based thermal power project and added, 'In Udupi district constituencies our focus will be on issues regarding Nagarjuna project. When Congress party was in power they gave green signal to the project but work on the project began during the regime of JD(S) and BJP coalition government. Sene is opposing this project as it is against the will of the public,' he said.

Hindutva, fight against terrorism and naxalite menace in the state, employment for youth, rural development, agricultural development and eradication of corruption form the party's agenda.

Expressing his views over the political developments in Puttur constituency, he said that his party will support Shankunthala Shetty and will meet her in this regard at the earliest.
