Air India stops serving non-vegetarian meals

New Delhi, Jul 10 (IANS): National passenger carrier Air India on Monday said that it has stopped serving non-vegetarian meals to passengers on board its domestic flights' economy class segment.

"Air India has taken a conscious decision not to have non-vegetarian meal in economy class on its domestic flights," a statement from Air India said.

According to the statement, the move would help the airline to reduce wastage and cost and to improve its catering services.

Next Air India will replace their in-flight toilets with additional seats to recover losses that they make flying VVIP and AI employees for world tours.

While many a time I have been told that flight is full; I have seen Air India staff and their family members being accommodated in those flights even in business class and during peak season where generally other airlines would not entertain those travelling on free tickers.
