Mangalore, Apr 25: It was a moving display of pain and suffering as scores of Tibetans in the city depicted the atrocities of the Chinese on Tibet through a street play here on Friday April 25.
They were joined in the protest by their counterparts from the Sera Monastery of Kushalnagar. The protestors alleged that the Chinese government has been harrassing the Tibetans by closing down their monasteries, imprisoning innocents, conducting surprises searches for those who put on the Dalai Lama's poster in their homes and arresting them.
They further alleged that the Tibetan prisoners are being ill-treated by means of denial of food, proper sanitation, constant beatings, solitary confinements etc.
The protesters appealed to the UN and the people through their hunger strike to send independent delegation to probe the brutal crackdown in Tibet recently, to provide immediate medication to the people injured in the unrest as they are being allegedly deprived of medical help by the Chinese authorities, take action for the immediate release of the Tibetans arrested, and to restore democracy and human rights in Tibet and China as well.
They also spoke on the way the unrest may affect the relations between Tibet and India, especially with regard to the border dispute with China.
Moreover, the protesters alleged that to show a pretty face to the world, the Chinese government had asked the military personnels to leave Tibet temporarily when the foreign media had descended on its soil. The Chinese are using massive propaganda to divide Tibetans in Tibet, they alleged.
