Mumbai: St Peter's Association Barkur celebrates anniversary of patron saint

Mumbai, Jul 11: St Peter's Association Barkur celebrated the 30th annual festival of their patron saint, St Peter at St Vincent Pallotti Church auditorium, Andheri east recently. Pallotti Church parish priest Fr Jerald D'Costa and Fr Walter Menezes offered a thanksgiving mass and blessed the occasion.

In the hall programme held later, association president Boniface Sequeira who presided over the programme, lit the traditional lamp and set the festivities in motion. He also distributed annual scholarships and talent awards to children.



The 12th annual general meeting of the association was held earlier. Chief secretary Eric Carvalho compered the programme and presented the annual report of the working committee. Joint secretary Arthur Mendonca read the report of the previous year's general body meeting.

Treasurer John Gonsalves presented the annual accounts and read the list of felicities. Former president Felix Barnes conducted the process of electing the working committee from 2017-2020 and announced the list of new office bearers.

Joylan Fernandes compered the hall programme. Youth wing's Evita Carvalho, Anwil Rebello, Viona Gonsalves performed a farce and other programmes. Ozwin Rebello conducted games. Ivan Suares proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded after the national anthem.
