Bengaluru, Jul 12: Karnataka governor, Vajubhai Vala, has left for New Delhi. It is learnt that he has decided to submit a report to the central government over law and order situation in the state and politically motivated murders. He will be meeting union home minister, Rajnath Singh, at New Delhi, sources said.

Opposition parties have been alleging that murders backed by political affiliations and ideologies are increasingly happening in Karnataka a la Kerala. Because of this, peace in society is disturbed. The situation in Dakshina Kannada district since the last two months is sensitive with internal turmoil building up. The governor is expected to hand over a report on the entire situation with his assessment of the same, during his meeting with union home minister.

MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, had met Rajnath Singh last week and complained to him against the state government. Former chief minister of Karnataka, B S Yeddyurappa, has criticized chief minister, Siddaramaiah, for his decision to hand over responsibility of bringing disturbances in the district under control, to retired IPS officer, Kempaiah. He said Siddaramaiah lacks the capacity to handle home ministry , blamed Congress for the turmoil in the district, and suggested to the chief minister to make Kempaiah the home minister.

Hindu and BJP leaders have been claiming that over 24 BJP and RSS activists were killed during Congress rule in the state, starting with Vishwanath who was killed on February 19, 2015, to Sharath Madiwala, who lost his life on July 7 this year.
