Mangaluru, Jul 14: The Vishwa Hindu Parishat on Friday July 14 hinted that SDPI leaders were behind the murder of RSS activist Sharath Madivala, and said that if SDPI leaders were arrested, then the real culprits would automatically surrender.
Addressing a press meet here, VHP Mangauru region secretary Gopal G said, "If the police arrest leaders of SDPI, automatically the murderers of Sharath Madivala will come out of their hiding places to surrender, or the party will disclose information about the murderers. The ruling state government is favouring SDPI and pro-Muslim communal forces, that is why even after the communal disturbances, they are roaming free.
"Police are conducting daily midnight raids on Hindu leaders especially on Satyajit Suratkal and Sharan Pumpwell. They are threatening their families members, including ladies using abusing language. Last night (July 13) also it happened. This is the final warning to the police and to the state government. If they continue the raids today also we won't sit calm, and the state government will be responsible for the aftermath," he warned.
"We are not accusing the police directly. Police have the ability to nab murderers and culprits. But the Congress government is putting pressure on them to not arrest the culprits. We condemn all the recent attacks and false allegations on Hindu leaders, and if it continues we will start a state-wide protest against this."
Further he said, "VHP condemns the recent attacks on Amaranath pilgrims and demands the central government to give the responsibility of the pilgrimage to the army, and also demands attack on all bases of terror activities in India."
VHP leaders Bhujanga Kulal and Gopal Kuttar were present.
