Dr. Anil Mamigatti (ENT), Dr.Kasturi & Dr.Bangera(GMC Hospital) advised the audience how to lead a healthy & smart lifestyle. They stressed the need for balanced diet, daily moderate exercise, avoidance of fatty and fast food, good sleep in this affluent and sloppy pattern of day to day living in the Gulf.

The doctors answered the audience questions in chaste Kannada which in itself was a highlight of the programme.

A KMC Pediatrician who was present in the audience Dr.Bhandari recited his humorous poetry on the evil of Diabetes which relieved the ‘stress’ of the audience and set a pleasant cheerful
atmosphere in the Auditorium.

In the second part of the programme a famous well known exponent of Hindustani Music Dr.Shyamal G Bhave was felicitated in presence of this august gathering of Kannadigas

Introducing Dr.Shyamala & reading ‘Sanmana Patra’;  Immediate Past President Ganesh Rai said that ‘Ubhaya Gana Vidushi Dr. Shyamala G Bhave is the talented daughter of the illustrious artiste couple Acharya Pandit Govind Vithal Bhave and Vidushi Lakshmi Bhave. Hailing from a family steeped in music, culture and tradition, music came naturally to Shyamala. A child prodigy, she sang her first concert when she was barely six!

Gifted with a mellifluous voice, impeccable sense of ‘sur’ and ‘laya’, she has mastered the subtle microtones that characterise classicism. One of the frontline performers of the Gwalior Gharana style of Hindustani music in its pure form, the sublime emotions in her renditions evoke the mood and feeling of the ‘Raag’, touching the soul of the listener.

Shyamalaji is equally at ease revealing her command over the different idioms and nuances that characterise the Carnatic style of Classical Music. Her potential was recognised and appreciated very early in her music career by the celebrated Sir M. Visweshwaraiah who conferred the title 'Ubhaya Gana Vidushi' on Shyamala, a title she has worn with pride ever since. She is credited with the conceptualisation. and propagation of 'DAKSHINOTTARAM', a unique technique of 'Ubhayagaan' concert wherein she presents a single-artiste vocal jugalbandi”

Speaking on the occasion Dr.Shyamala G Bhave narated how music helped patients suffering from severe depression to over come the illness to lead a normal happy life. President Prabhakara Ambalthere welcomed & thanked the audience in this educative programme.

Ganesh Rai proposed vote of thanks
