Bantwal, July 14: “I am not involved with any counter operation against minister, Ramanath Rai. I challenge him to contest election from outside his home constituency and see for himself what will be the result. I have been compelled to come here in the capacity of 'Vistarak' of the party because of the six-week operation in this constituency conducted by Ramanath Rai. I do not propose to contest against the minister in the coming election. Instead, Rai himself will get evicted from his constituency,”, said union minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, speaking to media persons who met him on Friday, July 14.
He asked if anybody has seen Ramanath Rai touring the state in the capacity of forest minister. “His trips are only for Bengaluru cabinet meetings and Bantwal’s inspection bungalow. Elephants have a corridor but Ramanath Rai’s corridor is only from Bengaluru to Bantwal, he said wryly. “Siddaramaiah many a time acts like being blind and deaf despite having eyes and ears. He does not lock his mouth, which is the best thing to do. Karnataka will prosper only if he shuts his mouth and concentrate on his work. Let Siddaramaiah speak after watching the video of scolding Dakshina Kannada SP by the district in-charge minister”, he said.
Matter of shame: Speaking about letter written by DIG Roopa regarding corrupt practices in Parappana Agrahara prison, he said that it is a matter of shame. “If the state government interferes and causes trouble to people, the union government will be under an obligation to interfere”, he said.
"Arrests of suspects and release is taking place in connection with B C Road unrest. There was information that the main suspect was arrested and another is absconding. Two unknown suspects are bought to the police station and let out. I have seen the functioning of R K Dutta when I was the CM. The DIG should take strong step regarding suspects arrested and released yesterday. I do not urge the Chief Minister as no justice can be expected from him”, he said.
“I will not interfere in any investigations as union minister. The death certificate of Sharath was with me when I went to DC’s office day before yesterday. But I did not tell about it as it should not hinder investigations”, he said.
