Udupi: Vasant V Salian Files Nomination for Kaup

Udupi, Apr 29: The nomination papers for the Kaup constituency was filed by the former minister and Congress party leader Vasant Salian for the forthcoming assembly election, at the Udupi taluka office here on Monday, April 28.
 
Earlier, Salian had organized a Congress party workers’ convention at the Kaup Rajiv Bhavan. Interesting point to be noted here is that Congress ticket aspirants Sarasu Bangera, B N Shankar Poojary, Ignatius D’Souza and Narayan Poojary who had given him stiff competition while aiming for the party ticket for the said election, also attended the convention with their supporters in tow.









 
Speaking on the occasion former MP Vinaykumar Sorake proclaimed that Congress party has a huge number of activists in the district. Despite the fact that competition ran high for Congress tickets, the high command has wisely managed to select the right candidates, he opined.
 
Furthermore he confidently predicted "Congress will win all the seats in the district. All party activists should work hard to ensure victory for the Congress candidates," he exhorted.
 
Former minister Jayaprakash Hegde, former MLA  U R Sabhapati, district Congress president M A Gafur, district women Congress president Veronica Carnelio, district Youth Congress president Murali Shetty Indrali, Mumbai corporator Santhosh Shetty, Kaup block Congress president Shrikar Suvarna, Brahmavar block Congress president Udaychandra Shetty, Udupi block Congress president Mahabal Kundar and others were present on the occasion.
