Mangalore, Apr 29: A brief meeting was arranged between the Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and Shri Vishveshateertha swamiji of Pejavar Math at Bajpe near here, on Sunday April 27. It was the personal secretary of the swamiji, who organized a meeting at the house of a common acquaintance.
Both the CM and the swamiji are understood to have been inside a room closeted and discussing matters for more than 10 minutes, sources informed. The house belonged to one Gopinath Bhat, a common friend of both.
According to the personal secretary of the swamiji, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, who arranged the brief meeting, in the course of the talks, Modi invited the swamiji to bring his developmental mission to Gujarat as well.
Modi is also reported to have lauded the efforts made by the swamiji in taking up developmental projects from the Math to different parts of the country. He even urged him to replicate some of them back home in Gujarat. The CM was accompanied by the former minister Dr V S Acharya to the house of Bhat.
