Puttur: Woman injured in accident on Sunday succumbs

Puttur, Jul 18: A woman who had suffered serious injuries in an accident involving two cars which happened at Kolpe in Golithottu village near here, lost her battle for life on Monday July 17. The deceased has been identified as Shakuntala (55), resident of Kumpala, Thokkottu near Mangaluru.

Shakuntala was travelling to Mangaluru along with her son, Sharan, when the car had met with an accident near a petrol bunk at Kolpe on the national highway between Bengaluru and Mangaluru. Both Shakuntala and her son, Sharan, had sustained serious injuries in the accident and were admitted into hospital. However, Shakuntala did not respond to the treatments.

Occupants of the other car that was moving to Bengaluru from Ullal, Ashraf Ullal, who was driving the I20 car, and Hassan, too have got admitted into hospital with injuries. Uppinangady police, who have registered the case, are investigating.
