Mangaluru: Canara College holds GST workshop

Mangaluru, Jul 18: A Workshop on 'Goods and Services Tax' was organised  for the teaching and non teaching staff of Canara College, at Smt Ratnabai Memorial Hall of the college, on Monday, July 3. CA Gautham Pai was the resouce person of the workshop.

Gautham highlighted the major apects of GST and spoke on how Goods and Services Tax enables the government find tax evaders.

He presented his views by means of visual presentation and enabled the audience to learn the drawbacks of the previous taxation system, and the benefits and impact of GST on common man, the business community and the Indian economy as a whole.



Principal Dr K V Malini said that a teacher of any discipline needs to learn about the tax rules of the nation.

Professor Pushpalatha, staff secretary, welcomed the guests and audience and highlighted the objectives of organising the workshop.

Professor Dhanyshree compered the programme. Professor Samarth Shenoy proposed the vote of thanks.
