Moodbidri: Inauguration of MITE Campus at Mijar on April 30

Moodbidri, Apr 29: The campus of the  Mangalore Institute of Technologies (MITE) will be inaugurated, near Mijar Thodaru National Highway-NH 13 near here, on Wednesday April 30 by the NITTE education trust president N Vinay Hegde. Former chief minister M Veerappa Moily will be presiding over the function.

The chief guest at the function will be the vice chancellor of Vishveswaraya Technological University, Dr H P Khincha of Belagavi, while the honorary chief guest will be I S T E president Dr N R Shetty. Others like former MLC K Abhaya Chandra, former MLA K Amarnath Shetty, writer Arla Laxminarayana Alva, Alva’s education foundation trustee Anand Alva, MITE advisor prof G R Rai amongst others too will be present on the occasion. 
 
The campus is located on 50 acres of land at Mijar Thodar.  This campus of MITE is recognised by AICTE, Delhi and has been accredited to the Vishveswaraya Technological University.  It is understood that in the beginning of the academic year 2007-08, the results tally in the field of electronic and communication engineering, computer science, and engineering, information science and engineering was 70 per cent. "In 2008-09 we will start M B A education too," informed Dr B Shankaranadha. 
 
The class room and the library here, is well-equipped with modern technologies and is fully air-conditioned. At the campus at the distance of 1,000 square feet, a touch screen projector and an inter-net access Y Pay inter-net has been installed for the students. The institute has made provisions  for bus facilities up-to Udupi and Mangalore. If need be it will also be providing similar travel facilities to other places. Institute vice president Savitha Gowda was present on the occasion.
