Mangalore, May 3: In a shocking incident, two persons reportedly attacked the office of a builder by firing two rounds of bullets with a revolver here on Saturday, May 3.

The persons belong to underworld don Ravi Poojary gang, sources suspected. They entered the office of one of the prominent builders of the city located close to Balmatta ground in Vas Lane at about 3.45 pm and attacked the office by randomly firing two rounds of bullets.

Sources added that the owner of the company was not there in the office and is in Mumbai when the incident took place. The Manager and the receptionist were there in the office when they attacked. However they managed to escape unhurt.

The attackers asked them to call Ravi Poojary immediately and threatened them not to inform the police about the incident. They fled the spot soon after firing the bullets. Both were speaking in Hindi, sources added.

SP Satishkumar, additional SP Siddaramappa, DySP D Dharmaiah, Kadri inspector B Ganapathi and other higher police officers paid a visit to the spot on receiving the information. Police sources said that the victims did not inform them about the incident for hours so the police have voluntarily rushed to the spot and started investigation in this regard.

A sniffer dog was also brought to the spot. Meanwhile, police are engaged in producing the portrait of the attackers, based on the information furnished by the receptionist and the manager of the company.

Police in 90% of the cases is aware what is happennind around, and pull out any innocent to complete the case. The power of the local pulic is required keeping apart cummunal misunderstandings. Mangalore is not even 10% what it was between 1990 - 1998.

Why is the police not eradicating all the gangs from Mangalore? They should take stern action against them and not allow the gangs to breed. Mangalore was such a peaceful city. Where is all this leading to?

This is rediculous. These builders and property agents are really spoiling the name of Mangalore for their self popularity. This has to be investigated and if the builder found guilty he should be arrested and his building licence to be cancelled.

Very annoying to know this sort of news in our native. If police fail to find the culprits in due course, then this sort of incident will become common and Mangalore will be no more safe place for business personalities. God Bless Mangaloreans!

The easiest way to earn money! Extortion! The culprits should not be spared, which is unlikely, thanks to our judiciary system. The amount of effort put by the Presidency Builders to reach to this level of thier achievement is unimaginable. This dreadful attempt of extortion by the alleged culprits do not deserve a penny! Keep up the good work Presidency Builders and keep constructing more of beautiful buildings, as you have always been doing. We all are with you. God Bless Us.
