Mumbai, May 5: The 'Founder's Day' celebrations of All India Saraswat Foundation and All India Saraswat Cultural Organization was held on Sunday May 4 evening, at Karnataka Sangh auditorium.
"Saraswat community has been endowed with above IQ and memory, in order to lead well off life. But, it's essential for the community to achieve significant progress in spirituality and religiousness. The community would further prosper with the social enlightenment. Hence, the utmost need for a forum which could lead the Saraswat community brethren towards achieving success of their life on earth. It would be well achieved by All India Saraswat Foundation and All India saraswat Cultural Organization" said
Sri Shivanand Saraswati Swamiji of Kavale Math located in Goa while gracing the celebrations.
Padmabhushan Dr Anil Kakodkar, chief executive officer of Automic Energy Commission was the chief guest while Jyoti Raikar, Jayat Rao Salgaonkar, MP and veteran banker Eknat K Takoor, Padmashree Padmaja Fenani Joglekar and chief executive officer of Union Bank of India T Y Prabhu were the guests of honour conveyed best wishes.
"It's our aim to bring together multi-lingual Saraswats' across the nation. Marati and Konkani Saraswats' are like twin children. It's our dreams to bring all Saraswats' who are residing all over the country, under one roof. All India Saraswat Foundation and All India Cultural Organization grown since it conveys the native culture and traditional hierarchy of Saraswat community at large, said president Dr Ajit Gunjikar.
Treasurer K S Rao, founder member Advocate N S Rao, G S Masurkar, S V Kini, Cultural Organization vice president Kacheri Sadanand D Nayak, Kamalaksha Saraf were present on the stage.
Dr Ajit Gunjikar and Ullas Kamat prostrated before Swamiji. Prakash Bhat introduced the guests of honour.
Vedhamurthy Sudhama Bhat invoked the Veda recitation. Aparna Kalenkar sung the welcome hymn. Foundation president Dr Ajit Gunjikar welcomed the gathering and delivered the introductory address. Convener Ullas Kamath compered the programme. Secretary Rajendra Pai proposed vote of thanks.
Musical concert was held by Padmashree Padmaja Fenani Joglekar group as part of entertainment programme.
