Udupi: State government to reward Rs 25 lac for women cricketers from Karnataka


Udupi, Jul 30 (DHNS): Minister for Sports and Youth Empowerment Pramod Madhwaraj has congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team for its good performance in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup-2017 held in England. They finished runners-up in the tournament.

The minister has announced a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh each for Rajeshwari Gayakwad from Vijayapura and Veda Krishnamurthy from Kadur, Chikkamagaluru.

A press release by the minister said the team had shown the best-ever performance and reached the final, overcoming all odds.
