Moodbidri, Jul 31: Catholic Sabha Deanery organised a conference on agriculture as part of their Silver Jubilee programme at Moodbidri church aall on Sunday, July 30.

The programme began with prayer service by Catholic Sabha members.

Silver Jubilee Committee Convener Jerald D'Costa with an introductory note extended a warm welcome to all. Director of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Pius L Rodrigues inaugurated the programme.

Main resource persons Kodi Srinivas Bhat, award winning agriculturist and Abdul Basheer, assistant officer of the agriculture department, Surathkal spoke on how yield in agriculture can be improved and regarding various government help and subsidies. They stressed on hard work and application of modern methods in agriculture.

Award winning agriculturist Edward Rebello Taccode, the chief guest on the occasion shared his experience in agriculture with the audience.

Eminent agriculturists from 11 parish units of the Moodbidri Deanery were honoured on this occasion.

CS Moodbidri Deanery spiritual director Fr Paul Sequeira in his message lauded the unique initiatives of Catholic Sabha in its silver jubilee year.

CS Cental Committee president Anil Lobo, CS Deanery, president Herald Rego, immediate past president Melwyn D’Costa and secretary Lloyd Rego were present.

Manohar Cutinha Hospet compered the programme. Melwyn DCosta Gantalkatte proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with lunch.
