Mangaluru: Apostolic Carmel Congregation felicitates retired staff

Mangaluru, Aug 1: The Apostolic Carmel Congregation founded by Mother Veronica in 1868 in Bayonne, France, was established at St Ann’s here, in 1870 with education predominantly for girls as its basic mission.

The congregation under The Apostolic Carmel Educational Society runs all kinds of educational, technical, institutional and social service centers. It has 67 institutions and caters to around 30,000 students in Karnataka.

Every year the management organizes a felicitation programme to honour its retired staff at the Province auditorium, St Ann’s Convent. This year it was held on July 29 in appreciation and gratitude to the invaluable, dedicated and loyal service of the staff. This year the untiring efforts of the staff members - three heads of institutions, ten teaching staff and one office staff were acknowledged with appreciation, affection and gratitude by the management.



The entire programme was organized by the management. Sister Carmel Rita AC the vice president felicitated each member. The secretary, Sr Ida Barboza welcomed the gathering. The opening prayer was led by the students of St Ann’s High School and the compèring by Sr Janet Maria Rodrigues, St Agnes School. Sister Carmel Rita expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the untiring love of all the retired staff and wished them good health, peace, contentment and happiness in life.

On behalf of all the retired staff, Shantha Kumari H expressed her gratitude and spoke on her experience as a staff member under the management. All the joint secretaries and heads of institutions were present at the felicitation programme.
