Mangaluru: Police beat system members' meet to be held on Aug 6

Mangalore, Aug 5: Beat system members meet under Mangaluru rural police station limits will be held at Vamanjoor Church hall on Sunday, August 6 at 10:30 am. A blood donation camp also will be conducted on the occasion.

Under the jurisdiction of Mangaluru rural police station, there are 65 units and 65 police to operate the beat system. The constable operating the beat will have the same power and authority of a police inspector in the station. Every beat will consist of 50 members. Every beat will have all details regarding the area like the number of places of worship, communal elements etc.

The police department aims to promote friendly policing through beat system. The department will also encourage people with social concern to join the beat system.

Beat members, zilla and taluk panchayat, and other committe members are expected to attend the programme.
