Udupi / Kaup, May 9: "The waves favourable to Congress are sweeping across the state. It is only the Congress that can form a stable government to undertake pro-people developmental programmes. Kannadigas would be assured of due benefit if the Congress is voted to power. The party workers should capitalize on the Congress legacy in the country and social welfare schemes undertaken by UPA government, during the poll campaign, and must bring Congress back to power in the state.” said union minister of state for Labour Oscar Fernandes .
He was speaking during the poll campaign held on behalf of the Congress candidate Vasant V Salian, at the Rajeev Gandhi auditorium, located at Kaup here, on Friday May 9.
Maharastra health minister Suresh Shetty said that the native Dakshina Kannadigas settled in Mumbai are supporting the Congress in order to bring it back to power to form a stable government on its own.
The party workers should focus on the immediate task of victory of Congress in all the constituencies across the state.
Congress candidate V V Salian, district president M A Gafoor, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, zilla panchayat member Saraswati D Bangera, Ignatius D'Souza, Mahabala Kundar, Srikar Suvarna,and a large number of supporters and party workers were present at the occasion.
