Kasargod: Gang rape victim gives birth prematurely inside toilet

Kasargod, Aug 9: A victim of gang rape prematurely gave birth to a child inside the toilet of her residence during the seventh month of her pregnancy. A case about this incident stands registered in Manjeshwar police station and the personnel are investigating.

The lady, a 27-year-old construction worker, hails from Davanagere. She resides in a rented home at Uppal in the district. She recently delivered a male baby. Assistant sub-inspector of the police station, Ramachandran, with the help of some women police constables,  went to the spot, met the mother-child duo and recorded statement of the lady. The police have now begun the work of finding out the culprits who gang raped the lady.

It is said that some men from Bihar who used to work with the lady in question in a construction project here, had gang raped her. It is said that the lady, out of fear, kept quiet about the incident. Her parents who reside with the lady recently had gone out to work. When they returned in the evening, they found that the woman had given birth to male baby inside the toilet.
