Mangalore, May 15: The Bunt community should strive its best to bring up the poor people in the community, said N Vinay Hegde, chairman of Nitte Education Trust (NET).
Inaugurating the Vandya Devanand Shetty auditorium at Bunts Bhavan in Subhashitnagar, Suratkal recently he said that Bunts community should take steps in eliminating illiteracy, unemployment and other problems.
Former MLA Amarnath Shetty and Ajitkumar Shetty Maladi, president of Federation of Bunts' Associations were the chief guests of the occasion.
M Devanand Shetty, president of Suratkal Bunts’ Association, presided over the function.
Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) mayor Ganesh Hosabettu, entrepreneurs Sudhir Shetty, Raveendranath Alva, Chethan Alva, Prakash Shetty, deputy mayor Shakeela Kava, former MLA Krishna Palemar, Dr Manjayya Shetty, Rohitashwa Rai, Pushpa K Shenava and others were present on the dais.
MCC corporator Ashok Shetty, C A Vijaykumar Shetty, Santhoshkumar Shetty, Bhujanga and Raveendra Shetty were felicitated on the occasion.
