Mangaluru, Aug 18: NCACSP-2017, the fifth edition of National Conference on Advances in Communication and Signal Processing organised by the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was inaugurated at St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor on August 17, 2017.
Prof Sambasiva Rao, professor in the Department of ECE at PES University - Bengaluru graced the occasion as chief guest.
Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, director - SJEC, presided over the inaugural ceremony. Fr Rohith D’Costa, assistant director - SJEC, Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, principal - SJEC, Dr Rio D’Souza, vice- principal - SJEC, conference chair – NCACSP-2017, along with conference conveners Wilfred John Vaz and Vijayalaxmi H M were present on the dais.
Lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries marked the beginning of NCACSP-2017.
Dayakshini, assistant professor, department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, welcomed the dignitaries and introduced the chief guest to the gathering.
Prof Sambasiva Rao, in his address mentioned the importance of research in the growth of institutions. He spoke about the trends in communication and electronics. Also, he spoke about the need for various innovative approaches in academics through research. He appreciated the department for taking initiatives in conducting such conferences.
Dr Rio D’Souza, the guest of honor, spoke about the benefits of the conference, upgraded technical knowledge and the need for being in touch with reality along with the growing technology.
The dignitaries on the dais released the proceedings of NCACSP – 2017.
Prof Sambasiva Rao was honored on the occasion.
Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza in his presidential address expressed the importance of communication in real life. He also hoped that the technical aspects of study and research will help us to become better humans.
Wilfred John Vaz, assistant professor in the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and convener of NCACSP-2017 conveyed the vote of thanks.
The inaugural ceremony was followed by the keynote address by Prof Sambasiva Rao on communication with satellites.
