Puttur: Absconding accused in assault case arrested after 37 years

Puttur, Aug 23: A person who is an accused in an assault case was arrested after 37 years. Puttur town police produced him in court on Tuesday, August 22.

C H Abdul Khader from Mudnooru near here is the person arrested.

As per police, a person named Abdul Kunhi was assaulted by 14 persons in 1979. Abdul Khader is one among the accused.

It is said that Abdul Khader went to Bahrain after the assault incident and worked there for many years. He returned to India in 2010.

After his arrival Khader started staying in Kavu village. But the police, who were tracking the old cases, came to know about this and managed to identify him and then later made the arrest.

Sub-inspector Omana led the team of police personal in opening the old case and making the breakthrough.
