Udupi, Aug 25: Every year people are excited to see unique and eco-friendly Ganesha at TVS showroom of Sai Radha Motors. This festive season, three artists have come up with unique eco-friendly 'Biscuit Ganesha' idol which has become cynosure for all.
Owner of Sai Radha Motors, Manohar S Shetty always encourages eco-friendly creativities during this festive season. His moves always attract the attention of people.
This time around, a team of three artists have introduced a new concept of ‘Biscuit Ganesha’ idol. The biscuit Ganesh has been made from different shapes of biscuits.
The popular artists Srinath Manipal, Srivenki Palimar and Ravi Hirebettu have designed the idol of eight-foot Ganesha from biscuits. Manohar Shetty unveiled the idol of Ganapati art on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi.
Speaking on the occasion, artist Srinath said, “Every year we come up with new concept for the idol. Earlier, we had designed idols from paper cup, handcraft materials and many eco-friendly idols. Children are delighted to see the biscuits idol this time around.”
Manohar Shetty said, “Whenever, we come up with eco-friendly concept for idol, we play our small part in Swachh Bharath Abhiyan. Keeping the environment neat and tidy is the responsibility of all citizens. The eco-friendly Ganesha idol made of biscuits can dissolve in water easily. There is a severe shortage of water in city, so people should think about water sources. Moreover, there is a bigger problem of disposal of garbage. So people should think about discarding the household waste properly. We would like to promote and encourage promotion of nature during this festive season.”
The artists made the biscuit Ganesha by sticking round, square and katti-mitti (sweet and salt) small size biscuits on waste card board. Even mouse vehicle of Ganesha is also made out of katti-mitti.
Vrujanath Acharya, TVS, Prakash Tanthri, Madhuprasad and Anand Shetty were present on the occasion.
The idol is open for public view for one week from Thursday, August 24. People can visit and see this creation of art from morning 10.30 am to evening 7.00 pm at the Sai Radha TVS show room, located at Vidyatheertha Marg in Kalsanka, Udupi.
