Udupi: Moving bus kills pedestrian crossing road at Katadady

Udupi, Aug 27: A pedestrian who was crossing the road at Katapady was hit by a bus after which he lost his life. The accident occurred on Saturday August 26 near Vijaya Industries, Katapady.

The deceased has been identified as Honnappa (41) from Bagalkot district. He was eking out a living by working as coolie at Katapadi and nearby areas. He was standing near the divider to cross the highway when a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus moving to Kollur hit him. He sustained serious injuries.

Honnappa was immediately taken to the district hospital here but he breathed his last before reaching the hospital, it is learnt.

It is felt that because of heavy rain, Honnappa failed to notice the oncoming bus. Kaup police have registered a case.
