Kundapur, Aug 27: Arun Kumar (45), resident of Parthikatte in Tallur village in the taluk, who was working as lecturer in a college at Gangolli, ended his life on the night of August 24 at his home. He is said to have consumed excessive amounts of sleeping pills.
Since the last 15 years, Kumar was working as lecturer for political science in the said college. At around 11 pm on Thursday, he committed suicide. A case about this suicide was registered in the police station here.
It is said that Arun Kumar was hurt by the fact that the college management was dithering from absorbing him on permanent employment.
It is also learnt that two weeks back, the management had obtained resignation letter from him by force. These things had depressed him a lot, and because of them he killed himself, said Kumar's brother, Kiran Kumar, in a complaint filed with the police station here.
