Australian toddler found shot dead

Sydney, Aug 28 (IANS): A three-year-old Australian toddler was found shot dead in a house in Sydney, police said on Monday.

The police were called to the house at around 8 p.m. following reports of a domestic disturbance at the house in the suburb of Lalor Park, reports Xinhua news agency.

Upon entering, they found the girl with a gunshot wound to her neck, while other young children were also in the house at the time.

According to reports, a man inside the house was heard screaming that a child was dead and that she had shot herself.

Footage from the scene showed the man rocking back and forth outside the Danny Road residence, while screaming.

An unidentified woman at the crime scene was crying, and screaming, as she was led into an ambulance by response crews.

This was not the first time that police had been called to the same house.

Last September, there were reports of multiple gunshots and yelling between occupants of the house.
