Mangalore, May 23: Fr Muller Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital had assigned 8 teams of homeopathy doctors to chickungunya affected areas across the Dakshina Kannada district, from Saturday May 17 to Thursday May 22, in order to administer medication to the affected rural people.
Accordingly, the doctors had visited Uppinangady, Koila, Perabe, Nelyady, Kaniyoor, Savanoor villages and conducted health camps to identify chickungunya cases among the residents and distributed medicines.
District health department also joined in their effort to curb the contagious disease from spreading in neighbouing taluks of Sullia, Vittal and Puttur. The teams were treating around 1200 affected persons since May 17 while the team recorded significant progress in treating majority of cases on Thursday May 22, in the above specified locations. The doctors on tour to remote villages had the rare chance to interact with the under privileged and needy victims of disease.
The tour of medial doctors to remote villages was undertaken at the wake of rise in chikungunya cases reported from these areas since few days ago.
