Beltangady, Aug 29: In a tragic incident, a young man died while keeping his mobile phone for charging due to electric shock.

Girish (21), son of Devappa Gowda, from Perlaru near here is the deceased. The incident took place on the night of Sunday August 27.

Girish wanted to charge his mobile phone. He had to take out the wires connected to the socket for that. The wires for the water pump were inserted into the socket directly without the plug. While he was removing the wires, he received electric shock and breathed his last, said Mescom officials.

Girish hailed from economically backward family. He worked as a labourer. He was eldest among two children of Devappa, another being daughter.

MANY PEOPLE IN INDIA DIE DUE TO ELECTRIC SHOCK!!! WHY THEY DONT DIE IN GULF?
IN INDIA BEFORE GIVING CONNECTION, A PERSON FROM MINISTRY COMES AND INSPECT. ACTUALLY, HE IS NOT BOTHERED OF ANYTHING. CONTRACTOR GIVES HIM A PACKET OF ENVELOPE TO HIM. AND HE WILL SIGN WHEREVER THEY WANT. THEN THE CONNECTION IS READY. LATER WHEN WE LOSE LIFE WE HAVE TO BREAK OUR HEAD...
LOOK @ GULF REGION .. I HAVE SEEN EVEN IF IT RAINS OUTSIDE AND THE WIRES ARE WET, TERMINALS ARE WET ELECTRIC POINTS ARE WET. BUT NO ONE DIES.. AS SOON AS ANYONE COMES INTO CONTACT WITH ELECTRICITY IT TRIPS OFF!!! THUS AVOID ANY DEATHS. WHY IN INDIA WE CANNOT INSTALL SUCH TRIPPERS???

Probably earthing was not carried out properly. This generally happens in the rainy season when electricity is snapped and restored again. The fault at times lies with the power station or from the distribution network. Due to this the connectivity is reversed and any electrical gadgets touched with bare hands or without wearing slippers could lead to shock. Or even illegal tapping of power could be the reason. May be this could be one of the factor. Could be other reasons too which are linked to this. Very sad. May his soul RIP.

NEGLIGENCE AND IGNORANCE lead him to his death. May his soul rest in peace.
