Puttur: Planning Forum inaugurated at St Philomena College

Puttur, Aug 30: The inaugural function of Planning Forum of PG department of Economics of St Philomena College here was held on Tuesday, August 29.

Dr Shripathi Kalluraya P, Professor of Economics, Mangalore University who inaugurated the forum, delivered a special lecture on ‘Research Methodology’. He said, “The strength of present day economy is determined by knowledge. In this regard, economists have a great role to play. Researchers must recognize and appreciate the interdependence among theory, research and practice.”

Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, chairman for PG studies who presided over the function said, “To grow as an integrated and responsible citizen, we need to acquire so many basic skills.”

The coordinator of the department Prof Dinakara Rao, professor of the department Dr Manjula B C, assistant professors Pradeep K S, Mahitha Kumari M, president of Planning Forum Rakesh Naik and joint secretary Nisha were present.

Jayashree presented the prayer song. Convener of Planning Forum Sandhya H welcomed the gathering. B T Sowmya compered the programme. Shabhana delivered the vote of thanks.
