Madikeri: Beef bag tied to temple arch - protest erupts at Kakkabbe

Madikeri,Aug 31: After it was found that some miscreants had hung a bag containing beef from the arch of Nettumadu Goddess Bhagawati temple at Kakkabbe village in the taluk, tension prevailed around the temple area on Wednesday August 30. Police personnel handled the situation properly and ensured that the situation did not go out of hand.

Protests were also held thereof by workers of BJP and pro-Hindu organizations at Kakkabbe, Madikeri, Kushalnagar etc to condemn this incident.

A local named Pandanda Naresh had seen the bag first. After he got the bag down with the help of a worker, he found that it contained four decomposed, severed legs of a cow. He immediately complained in Napoklu police station. After angry villagers stood the ground and held protest, police officers visited the spot and promised to find out and arrest the culprits without delay.
