Kundapur: One arrested for stealing cash from Kundeshwar temple

Kundapur, Sep 2: The police have succeeded in arresting the culprit behind stealing Rs 24,000 cash from Sri Kundeshwara temple.

The culprit has been identified as Ganesh Acharya, resident of Vakwadi. The cash was kept by Karkala Byloor Ganadamane resident Sachin Devadiga in the room of the deity during Ganeshotsava festival of the temple.

Ganesh had come to the temple to present dance programme in the procession. He had broke open the door on the first floor of the temple and decamped with the money. The police, who solved the case with the help of CCTV footages, took the accused into custody near Kundapur Vinayaka talkies. They have also recovered Rs 20,000 and a bike from him.
