Mangaluru, Sep 3: Police personnel from Kankanady station in the city arrested four persons in connection with a case of murder attempt on a motor bike rider. Tejas, who was riding a two-wheeler on the night of August 30 was waylaid by a gang which stopped him near Sanidhya School at Bolya, Shakthinagar. The two-wheeler rider had complained that the gang attacked him with swords and tried to kill him.
The arrested youngsters are Prathviraj alias Putta (19), Abhishek alias Mani (23), and Sachin (21), all of whom reside near Rajarajeshwari temple at Neethinagar in Shakthinagar, and Vishal alias Vishal Kumar, whose house is near Ramashakti Mission, Shakthinagar.
Inspector of the police station, Ravi Naik, who got information that the assailants in the case had come together at a house in Shakthinagar, went there with some of the staff members on Saturday September 2 and took the four into custody.
It is said that Tejas, living in Shakthinagar and working for a company in the same locality, was moving towards his home after office hours on August 28 with his colleague, Saju, in the pillion, when the said murder attempt was made.
The police are yet to find out the reason behind this murderous attack.
