Mangaluru: Distinguished professor Sharada Ghate passes away

Mangaluru, Sep 5: Sharada Ghate (80), former distinguished professor in Canara Pre-University College and long-time Rashtra Sevika Samiti activist, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 3 in Yenepoya Hospital after a brief illness.

She was the wife of former general secretary of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Prabhakar Ghate, who passed in 2005.

Sharada was known as an excellent writer-cum-orator, strict-but-fair teacher, and tireless advocate for her country.

She is survived by her son, Sudhir Ghate, and family and many friends who will dearly miss her.
