Mangaluru: Siddaramaiah is anti-democracy, planned rally to take place – DK BJP

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Sep 5: "Denying the permission for 'Mangaluru Chalo' Siddaramaiah showed his mentality against democracy. He is not Sidda Rama but ‘Siddha-Ravana'. People of Karnataka especially the members and leaders of BJP experiencing his 'Ravana' rule. He and district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai have given strict order to district administration and police to crush the 'Mangaluru Chalo' rally. But any cost we are going forward on our planned programme," said Sanjeev Matandur, BJP Dakshina Kannada district president.

Addressing the media persons here on Tuesday September 5, he said" We are not going to cancel the rally scheduled on September 7. Around ten thousand of our members from our district itself will take part in this rally. Besides this, members from other districts also will join,” he added.

“BJP is a national party and functions under guidelines of laws of the country. The rally is a political activity and we have all rights to do it in a democratic setup. With the demand of ban on PFI, SDPI and KFD and the resignation of Ramanath Rai, we are organizing this rally. It will be a peaceful rally. Government should give all type of protection for us,” he said.

“With the help of police today Siddaramaiah got arrested our leaders like Ashok and Shobha Karandlaje and members. We are condemning this act. It shows how he feared BJP and our leaders," he concluded.

Former MLC Monappa Bhandary said, "Government is testing our members’ patience. Agitations and rally are not new for us. Since Jana Sangha period we are doing these things. We do not care any threats by the government and police as we are working in a republic country and not doing anything against the peace and communal harmony. We will gather in Mangaluru peacefully as planned. The government should be held responsible If anything goes wrong.”

BJP district committee members and Yuva Morcha leaders were present.

Can really (bike) rally bring real peace to M/luru? Why these goons were silent from the day of murder of Gandhiji till Junaid? All of sudden they woke up now to bring peace or to disturb peace to gain political mileage before polls? People of K/taka once made mistake by electing Yeddi as Cheap Minister to see/greet him at Parappana Agrahara but dont expect every time the history may repeat.

Supreme Court of India has held that the right to peaceful protest is a fundamental right guaranteed in the Constitution and the aforesaid right is subject to reasonable restrictions in the interest of the sovereignty and integrity of India,as well as public order.

It has been held that the right to hold a meeting or a demonstration involves the Constitutional right of every citizen-of assembly under Article 19(l)(b), of expression under Article 19 (l)(a), and of free movement throughout the territory of India under Article 19 (l)(d).

These rights can be regulated only in specific circumstances and on grounds that are unexceptionable for protecting the sovereignty and integrity of India and maintaining public order. In fact, the Supreme Court (in Himmat Lal vs. Police Commissioner, Ahmedabad) held a section of the Bombay Police Act void as it did not specify the grounds under which the concerned officer could restrict the right of citizens to assemble and move freely.

Similarly refusing meetings on the ground of "public order" must be done carefully. The threat to public order must be distinguished from a threat to "law and order". For a threat to "public order" can arise only when a total collapse of the State machinery is imminent.

If BJP leaders give undertaking that there will be no violence, threat to anyone's life , no public disorder, private or public property damages they will held liable for the punishment. Also BJP will pay the damages for the individual business losses.

By considering the BJP's cadres funeral procession and Dera Sacha verdict under section 144 the ruling government is not wrong imposing the ban.

Can BJP explains to citizens why all protest need to be violent? Don't they know the freedom struggle Mahatma Gandhi was 'Satyagrah'?

Let the protest began with 'blood donation' camp? Least donating organ posthumes.

Can BJP set an example instead of desperately looking for bloodbath?

    Jai Hind

The people of India have seen how Democracy has been hijacked with the voting machines and how Democracy was rubbised in Gujarat recently and in Goa, Manipur and Nagaland after the last elections. It is better the local BJP takes the advice of CM and go on a bike rally to Delhi to highlight the severe problems being faced by the common man because of failures on all fronts by our central Govt.

Why BJP wantS 20000 outsiders to come to Mangaluru. Your intentions are very much clear as your MP nalin once said we will burn mangaluru. Government is taking every steps to protect its citizens. Don't fool people if BJP genuinely wanted to protest they could have gathered local people and nobody would have stopped them. BJP want to repeat Gujarat riots model in Karnataka might be advised in Daku shah's resent visit.
BJP's fear to loose coming elections and greed for power will take them to any level. DK people wake up we love our DK and will not allow any one to disrupt peace here.

    Shetre! Enchina?
BJP are jokers- they have no clue how poor people live , struggle and dread to get up next morning for more of the same.
You go to any temple : Kollur, Kavathar, Palimar, or Church (all over DK) or Mosque : what you see
is a huge line of beggars with a dirty cloth where you throw change or a few rupees(if you're generous
of too kind hearted like I am).
How many more beggars do we want to throw our change at? how long this poverty must go on?
These Peace marchers do much better by get out work earn some money and feed a few poor, under-
privileged little boys and girls - that is if they love their fellow-men and mother India. Jai Hind

RSS never taken any rally against the British during the freedom struggle.
RSS never had any say in building India after Independence when our country was considered a poor country.
Today RSS wants to rule the country when India has grown to a level wherein it is recognised has world's sixth largest economy and fifth powerful in defense. That to by creating communal hatredness.

I request RSS to ask votes in the name of development not by creating problems in the Soceity. Think about the Families of the young uneducated youths who are killed for your political gains. They will be having old Parents who will be dependent on them, Some will be having responsibility of their sister's marriage. Please don't brainwash peoples mind.
History has witnessed that Religion has never taken any Nation to growth, Prime example is Taliban, Pakistan and over very own Kashmir.

What a useless bunch of political leaders?
Some times I wonder what have i done to support BJP???

If they want to protest against of death of RSS workers!!!
why didnt they protest when Baliga and other Hindu men got killed????
Werent they Hindus? was it because they did not identify with BJP hence no support!!!
Just because few RSS/Bajarangi rowdies got killed they want to protest??

I a BJP supporter however with all this nautanki/drama to stir peace/harmony
I no longer wish to vote BJP again....until i see a fit and wholesome leader like Vajpaye ji.
We mangloreans must fight all communial agendas of right wing Hindu sects from where BJP came into existence, also we must end SDPI/PFI etc

We dont want anyone who is harming Hindutva/peace and harmony in the society.
