'Dont Worry, Be Happy' - Bollywood Comedians Flock Mangalore

Mangalore, May 29 : The city has become the centre of bollywood attention with a bevy of comedians from the tinseltown setting camp here for the shooting of the Hindi movie 'Dont Worry, Be Happy'.
While immensely popular and distinguished comedians like Rajpal Yadav, Hemanth Pande, Murali Sharma and several others have already arrived in the city, more of their clan are set to follow, with the expected arrival of Shakti Kapur, Asrani, Prem Chopra etc here in a few days.
The muhurat for this film, being produced by S Lad Entertainment Productions, was held on Wednesday May 28 morning near the Boat House in Sultan Battery in the city. Santhosh Lad, Congress MLA, is the producer of the film, while the other producer Gopi Mallya and executive producer Santhosh Kote are from the district. Raj Bharath is directing the film. Muhurat and shooting for a big budget Hindi film like this is being held in the city for the first time.
Giving details about the film, Gopi Mallya said that his team selected Mangalore for shooting as it felt that none of the Hindi movies so far produced have encaptured the beauty and serenity of Mangalore and surrounding areas. Shooting for this out and out comedy will go on for 22 days at a stretch, in places like Panambur, Ullal etc. As many as 23 comedians are coming together in this film to provide a profusion of comedy to the audience. Vinay Pathak of 'Bheja Fry' fame, Ashwini Kalsekar who shot to limelight with her portrayal of Komal's role in 'Chak De', Resham Tipnis, Sanjay Mishra are also in the cast and parts of the movie will also be shot in Mauritius, Gopi explained.
Raj Bharath, who has directed films of stalwarts like Rajnikant, Chiranjeevi etc also had directed a Kannada film, 'Garuda Dhwaja'. He informed that the film will have suspense along with comedy. Rajpal Yadav, Hemanth Pande and Murali Sharma took part in the muhurat shot, in which eight men and three ladies from the city also got a chance to participate.
Hemanth Pande was of the opinion that movies should aim at bringing relief to the strained minds of the audience through comedy, rather that burden them with sentimental subjects. 'As comedy has come here to stay, I am busy with several films now,' he said.
Rajpal praised Mangalore and Mangaloreans, saying that the city is very beautiful and the people here have a lot of positive energy. 'I now know why this city is well-known all over,' he exclaimed.
