Bengaluru: Gauri Lankesh's last issue has probe against Yeddyurappa on cover

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Sep 9: The September 6 issue of the Gauri Lankesh Patrike has former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s land denotification case on the cover.

The story traces the latest case against Yeddyurappa to a probe order issued by his successor Sadananda Gowda. The shady transaction by which land was denotified to benefit the former chief minister is highlighted.

Gauri Lankesh has written an editorial on the triple talaq judgment. In her column Kandahage which translates ‘As seen,’ she has focused on two recent Supreme Court judgments.

While she welcomes the “progressive verdict” that struck down triple talaq she has questioned the apex court’s ruling for an NIA probe into the allegations of ‘Love jihad’ in Kerala.

The issue also refers to Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat as 'cheddi don' from coastal Karnataka. It speaks of how the state government stopped him from using temple funds to run two private schools.

Detailed reports on the lapses of local government in Mandya or Chitradurga are written. The piece on Chitradurga analyses why Zilla Panchayat President Sowbhagya is ‘not reachable’.

A humour column, ‘Katte Purana’ by Chandre Gowda, film and book reviews and short stories are some light reads one can find in the magazine.

Gauri’s journalism was the direct output of her activism and her political leanings. Over the last few months, the tabloid had extensively dealt with the repeated attacks on minorities and secularism, most of which came because of her active role in forums like Koumu Sauharda Vedike.

Who cares one innocent life when BJP and master strategist Amit Shah sees former CM Yeddyurappa as the only for Karnataka who was on bail from jail.

In 2014 BJP has fooled the entire nation saying they will bring black money in 100 days in the office and make India 'corruption free'.

But when it comes to practicality of the subject of corruption BJP Chief Ministers are excluded from prosecution.

Can anyone know where is anti corruption crusade Anna Hazare?

Do not understand why so much of fuss about the cover page of last edition.
To everyone's knowledge, Gouri lankesh became famous with her popular writings against certain segment of society. Which created dedicated reader's base with a fan following.
Sure Police are investigating from every possible angle.

She was writing against Yeddi, Chaddis, Kalladka Bhatta (she calls him as Chandala Bhatta), Pratap Simha from long time. Nobody knows what is the latest edition which was supposed to go for print next day. Also she wrote against one Karavali don earlier. Hopefully police is investigating in that line as well.

Some parties can stoop to any extent. Scared by the tremendous support to BJP in the recent days some political party would have masterminded this murder. The release of the tabloid with Yedyurappa on cover page has come timely, so culprits planned the murder so that everyone doubts Yedyurappa.
    What an idea Sirji!!!

6th Sept issue is not the last issue. Even though this issue is dated 6th Sept, it came to the market one week earlier as always done. The last issue which she edited and finalized on 5th sept before going home when she was shot, is still under printing . The earlier issue dated 6th Sept with yadiyurappa land case Probe on the cover page, is one week old.

Why you are bothered? SIT can catch culprits. After all, your beloved PM was following people who were celebrating death of Gauri Lankesh. Nothing can be ruled out but this is too early to say. Pappu needs to grow up. Killers may be BJP/Chaddi group/Naxals/Family. So maintain patience Jeevan.Don't get overexcited.
