Udupi, Sep 10: "The 'Dharma Sansad' programme being held in the city, I am sure, will give a definite direction for Hinduism's future. Although India has shown tremendous progress in the recent past, it is getting bogged down by fundamentalists. The coming convention should prove decisive in helping Hindus to ward off the above problem that is hurting it and move ahead," wished managing director of Manipal Media Network Ltd, T Gautham S Pai.

He was speaking after inaugurating the office of 'Dharma Sansad' proposed to be held from November 24 to 26 under the aegis of Paryaya Pejavar Math and leadership of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, in a progamme held near Admar chaultry on Saturday September 9.

Pai described the opportunity he got to inaugurate this office as a proud moment for him. He hoped that the convention of religious leaders will spread peace and harmony all over the country.

MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, wished that the Dharma Sansad will prove to be a light of hope in country's history. "Our land has always been known for its sacrifices. We have always given high status for religious persons. Hinduism at present is under three kinds of attacks, attack by rationalists, cultural attack in the name of Love Jihad, and attempt to break the religion through the concept of 'Ahinda'. The convention should find a solution to these problems," he said. Kateel also hinted about the possibility of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, RSS head, Mohan Bhagwath, and Uttar Pradesh chiief minister, Yogi Adityanath, taking part in the coming convention. He also informed that some central leaders will also attend the programme.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh divisional executive member, Shambhu Shetty, presided over the programme.

RSS regional organizing secretary, Basavaraju, in his introductory address, said that the coming programme in which 2,500 spiritual heads will take part, will infuse new strength to India. He revealed that the Sansad will pass resulutions on banning of cow slaughter, stopping of religious conversions, harmony within Hindu society and construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

Pejavar Math junior Swamiji, Sri Vishwaprasannateertha, wished that the Dharma Sansad will become a cornerstone for the eradication of the above issues bothering Hinduism. He said he was sure that the convention will result in settling down of peace and harmony in the society. He prayed to Lord Srikrishna to give the strength and capacity to hold the programme in a smooth way.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad vice president, M B Puranik, welcomed. Regional joint secretary, Krishnamurty, presented the programme. District president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Vllas Nayak, proposed vote of thanks.
